The Aurora Borealis is one of the most amazing sights to experience. Capturing it digitally is a challenge that I am learning. We don't get to se it very often at our latitude, but once in awhile the conditions and forecasts are right . . . and the best tool is patience!

Some of my favourite subjects are our native flowers in their natural habitat. We are fortunate to live close to Arden where the Prairie Crocus blooms abundantly in April. Our ditches have all sizes of the Yellow Ladyslipper in June, and the Showy Pink Ladyslipper at the end of June.

The harvest sunset has always been a thrill to get on film or digital image. I don't often have my Canon 6D with me in the field, but I always have my phone to capture the story of our rural life.

For the love of photography . . .
I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a child - from an "instamatic" camera on school field trips to a Pentax K1000 as school yearbook photographer. My first big purchase after I graduated from high school was my own Pentax K1000 which I donned with many lenses and filters. Digital photography opened up a new world where cost of printing couldn't limit me anymore. I am pleased to be part of the community of amateur photographers whom this has become possible. It is my pleasure to share my photos and a bit about life in rural Manitoba.
