Donna is an active citizen scientist, reporting aurora observations to data collection websites.
She is also involved in several citizen science projects.
One is called Aurorasaurus and she is an ambassador.

Another is a working group called ARCTICS, through the International Space Science Institute of Bern, Switzerland. This project has produced free online resources for citizen science - click on the links in the images - as well as other publications.

SPIRAL OVER THE SHORE

Donna took this image during the G4 Solar Storm on October 10, 2024. She witnessed many auroral spirals, aka "cinnamon rolls" from the west shore of Lake Manitoba.

PINK AURORA OVER THE POND

Another recent big event was the May 10-12, 2024 G5 solar storm which was seen across the globe. Donna took this photo at 1:18 a.m. on May 11 in SE Manitoba.
